Attractions In and Around Mifflinburg

Mifflinburg Buggy Museum - You’re invited you to step back in time and visit the original William A. Heiss Coachworks. From 1883 to 1920, William A. Heiss operated a successful buggy making business. When he died in 1931, the factory was closed. For years, the building was used for storage, but mostly it lay forgotten. Almost 50 years later, the doors were opened to reveal an original shop with belting and pulleys, tools, machinery and forges. It was as if William Heiss and his workers had simply walked away. |

Mifflinburg Hotel/Scarlet D Restaurant - The recently restored Scarlet D Restaurant is located on Chestnut Street and features fine dining with two dining rooms and a two story bar in a relaxed atmosphere. The hotel is also restored and has 18 guest rooms. For more information or to make a reservation, call (570) 966-5400. |

World War II Honor Roll Monument - The Union County Veterans Foundation was established in 2001, to recognize and honor veterans who served in World War II. Due to deterioration caused by time and weathering, the original monument, a wooden structure located in downtown Lewisburg, was taken down and disposed of. A fund was established to underwrite the new World War II Honor Roll Monument, which was erected in the Mifflinburg Community Park in 2003. The monument honors WW II, Vietnam and Korean veterans from Union County. |
