Christmas in Mifflinburg

         A special holiday festival is being planned to help the Mifflinburg community celebrate Christmas in December. With the Christkindl Market being cancelled this year due to the challenges presented by the Covid health crisis, representatives of Mifflinburg Heritage and Revitalization (MHRA), the Gutelius House Museum, and the Mifflinburg Buggy Museum have come together and are planning “Christmas in Mifflinburg.”

The group felt that an event of a much smaller could be held and more easily managed to ensure better appropriate distancing and occupancy requirements outlined by state and CDC health requirements.

 The festival will take place on December 11 and 12, and will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.  It will include food, artisans, crafts and activities in and around Fifth and Green streets including the Elias Center, the Gutelius House Museum, and the Buggy Museum.

Information is ongoing but some of activities at the Elias Center will include the sale of hot coffee, cocoa and toddies and an art exhibit with local artists.  The Buggy Museum plans to have a visit from some of Santa’s reindeer on Friday and they will have food and tours of the Heiss House and Repository. The Gutelius House will be selling a vast array of Christmas gifts, food and a limited amount of Dampfel Dei.

      Additionally, so far you can look for Bing’s BBQ, the Original Strüdel Factory, Kitch It to the Curb, Good Time 4H pot pie, Seefeldt’s Brats, nuts and cashews from the Buffalo Valley Sportsman’s Club, Punako Artisan Hearth, Hack’s Soup and Smoked Cheese, Roush’s Apple Dumplings, Summer Kitchen Spices, the Silverman, Dantonio Designs, C & K’s Unique Designs, Boof Biscuit, Reiff’s German Woodcarved Trees, plus greens,
