POLLINATOR PATHWAY EXPERIENCE
For the Earth, Mifflinburg's New Environmental Community Action Club, invites you to a Pollinator Pathway Experience: A Visit to Lori's Garden. Creating havens for pollinators has become a nationwide effort due to the rapid decline in their populations. These havens, known as pollinator pathways are connected corridors of native plants, providing food, nesting sites, and shelter for pollinators like bees, moths, butterflies and birds. These private and public pathways are free of herbicides and pesticides, provide sequenced blooms of native plants, and often have features like water sources and undisturbed ground for shelter and reproduction. The preservation and creation of pollinator habitats is vital for maintaining ecosystem balance and supporting local wildlife.
If you are looking for ideas of how to create your own pollinator-friendly patch of earth feel free to stop by Lori’s house (202 Hillside Drive, Mifflinburg, PA) on Saturday, June 13 or Sunday, June 14 between noon and 2 p.m. She will take you on a walking tour to share the different native perennials, shrubs and trees she has planted, her reasons for her selections and future plans for each space. An additional garden tour in Mifflinburg is planned for July.
For the Earth plans to host regular environmental workshops, book clubs and educational events throughout the year, inviting the community to take an active role in aligning with nature’s harmony, rhythm and interconnectedness through thoughtful nature centered acts.If you care deeply about the health of the planet and would like to know more about Pollinator Pathways and For the Earth’s other environmental initiatives contact us at fortheearth2@gmail.com
