Winter Grief Support Group
    Losing someone you care about is never easy. Find comfort, understanding, and support at Roupp Funeral Home’s Grief Support Group - a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. Their 13-week Winter Grief Support Group Program began Tuesday, December 2, 2025, and continues each Tuesday evening through February 24, 2026. Doors open at 6 p.m. for snacks and beverages. Sessions begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. and run for approximately 90 minutes. New members are welcome to join at any point during the program. Pre-registration is recommended, but not required. (Please note that childcare is not available at this time.)

FREE TAX PREP WITH UNION-SNYDER CAA
    Union-Snyder CAA is accepting appointments for its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, which will run through April 14, 2026. VITA offers free tax preparation for low-to-moderate income households. IRS-certified volunteers provide basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualifying individuals. Individuals must meet the following eligibility criteria to schedule an appointment: 1) Annual household income cannot exceed $60,000; 2) VITA is limited to those filing non-itemized tax returns only. BOYER MENNONITE CHURCH TO HOST LEGO CLUB
    Boyer Mennonite Church, 1472 West Ridge Road, will once again be hosting Lego Club for children ages 5-15!  This year's dates are January 30, and February 13 and 27.  The fun begins at 7 p.m. each evening! Union County Church To Hold Indoor Yard Sale
    Come and stop by our indoor yard sale at Christ’s United Lutheran Church on Friday & Saturday, February 6 and 7, 2026.  The sale runs from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. We expect to have clothing bargains, furniture, glassware, and all kinds of items.  Food, refreshments, and quarts of soup will be sold. Come fellowship with us and enjoy the day. FUSED GLASS HEART WORKSHOP AT UNION CELLARS
    Join SCK Glassworks at Union Cellars Winery in Lewisburg on Friday, February 6, at 7:30 p.m. for a creative and fun-filled workshop where you'll design your very own fused glass heart ornament! In this hands-on session, participants will work with fusible glass pieces to create a beautiful suncatcher decoration.
    Each participant will begin with a clear heart base roughly 4.5" by 4" and use a variety of glass pieces to decorate and personalize their heart. Skye from SCK Glassworks will guide you through the process, offering tips on creating visually striking patterns and ensuring your design will fuse beautifully in the kiln. The workshop is beginner-friendly, so no previous glassworking experience is required—just bring your creativity and enthusiasm!
    Once completed, your heart will be fired in the kiln, and finished with a hanger and ribbon. You will be able to pick it up at Union Cellars Winery within 1 week (just in time for Valentine's Day). This workshop is a perfect opportunity to unwind, express your artistic side, and create a unique piece of art to brighten your home or give as a thoughtful Valentine's Day gift. The class is $36 per person. Supplies needed for the workshop will be provided. Union Cellars Winery will have drinks available for purchase!     Celebrate National Sticky Bun Day and support a great cause with a Mr. Sticky’s sticky bun fundraiser benefiting the Herr Memorial Library! Community members are invited to place orders and enjoy these popular treats while helping support library programs and services. CASH BINGO FOR MAVERICK RESSUGUIE
    Grab your daubers and get ready for a fun afternoon of Bingo for a great cause! New Berlin Fire Co. is hosting a Cash Bingo on February 7 to help support Maverick’s treatment and recovery journey through testicular cancer. The bingo will be held at the New Berlin Social Hall. RUSTY RAIL ANNOUNCES ANNUAL CHILI COOK OFF
    Join the Rusty Rail Brewing Co. on February 8 for their Chili Cook Off benefiting the Union County K9 Unit — an afternoon of bold flavors, friendly competition, and community fun. Best of all, the event is free to attend, and registration is free for chili chefs. Local chili lovers will go head-to-head serving up their best recipes, competing for bragging rights and prizes like Best Overall Chili, Spiciest Chili, Most Rustic, Best Table Setup, and more. GALENTINE’S DAY POTTERY PAINTING
    Enjoy a creative and relaxing pottery painting experience hosted by Rise and Design Art Studio at Union Cellars on Friday, February 13! This paint-your-own pottery event is the perfect way to spend time with friends, celebrate Galentine’s Day, or enjoy a fun and unique date with your favorite person. Participants will choose their own pottery piece and paint it however they’d like—no experience needed! They’ll provide all materials, guidance, and plenty of inspiration.
    To reserve your spot, please purchase a $10 event ticket at www.riseanddesignartstudio.com. This $10 deposit will be applied toward the pottery piece you select on the day of the event. Pottery prices range from $10–$55, depending on the piece chosen. After the event, all pieces will be professionally glazed and fired. Finished pottery will be returned to the venue 2–3 weeks after the event for pickup. Whether you’re planning a girls’ day out, a creative date night, or just treating yourself, this event is a fun and memorable way to get creative and celebrate the season.

AUDITIONS FOR “DIARY OF ANNE FRANK” AT RIVERSTAGE COMMUNITY THEATRE
    RiverStage invites you to open auditions for its April 2026 show, "The Diary of Anne Frank." Auditions will be held on two dates in February 2026: Sunday, Feb 15 and Monday, Feb 16, on both dates at 6:30 p.m. All auditions are at Greenspace Center, 815 Market St, in Lewisburg, and the show will be performed at the same location from April 10 through 19, directed by Josh Wilkinson. Auditioners only need to attend one session, and do not need to prepare material ahead of time, but will be asked to read selections from the script, and fill out a brief form with contact information, past experience, and availability. Please bring a calendar so that you can indicate any scheduling conflicts between February and April.

SNOWFEST 2026!
    Break out of the winter doldrums and experience some winter adventures at R. B. Winter State Park's annual SnowFest on Sunday, February 22, from 12 to 4 p.m.! Local organizations such as the Union County Conservation District, Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission, Pennsylvania Game Commission, and more will be setting up family-friendly displays and activities. Join in at 1 p.m. for a search and rescue demonstration by S.T.R.I.K.E K9 and don't forget to get your picture taken with Smokey Bear. ​​​​​The Mid Penn Trailblazers will be hosting their annual 3.5 mile trail race.     ​Join the fun in the Environmental Learning Center, where the Friends of R. B. Winter will hold a silent auction featuring items from many local businesses! Proceeds from the silent auction will be used for programs, events, projects, and needs within the park- come on out and support this effort!
